Meet Dr. Illig
Dr. Danette Riso Illig has over 35 years experience as a specialist in periodontal care. She graduated with a BS in Biology from Stony Brook University in Long Island, NY, and holds an MS in Parasitology from Columbia University. She obtained her Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree from Fairleigh Dickinson University College of Dental Medicine in NJ. After a one year General Practice Residency at Mountainside Hospital in Montclair, NJ, Dr. Illig completed her Specialty Certificate training in Periodontics at FDU College of Dental Medicine, where she was also a Teaching Fellow. She also held the position of part-time professor for two years in the Dept. of Periodontics at the University of Southern California Dental School. Dr. Illig has been published in the Journal of Clinical Periodontology and was elected into the Psi Psi Chapter of Omicron Kappa Upsilon. Dr. Illig is an active member of the ADA, American Academy of Periodontology, Connecticut Dental Society, and the Greater Norwalk and Stamford Dental Societies.
Dr. Illig is dedicated to helping her patients achieve total body wellness, giving guidance in reducing factors that promote inflammation in the body. She is also a REIKI MASTER. REIKI is a non-invasive hands-on healing technique meant to accelerate the body's natural healing processes. When not treating patients, Dr. Illig enjoys time with her family and pets, acting, spinning, pilates, and cooking.
